Swim Team 2017

Let’s Go Waves!

The Wellington Waves is our neighborhood swim team for youths.  Open to non-residents as well, swim team is a great way for the kids to start their summer!   The organizers of the swim team are neighborhood volunteers.  The season consists of morning practice (Mon-Thurs), 5 evening meets (typically Thursdays) and Friday ribbon awarding and fun.

We need volunteers to help run this program.  Please contact us if you would like to help make our Wellington Waves team a success.

Wellington Waves Swim Programs

This program is for swimmers 5 yrs and older that are ready to swim in meets. The expectation for the younger swimmers is that they be able to put their face in the water, make it across the pool unassisted, and float on their back.  If you are not sure your child cannot meet the expectations, please consider the Ripples program as they can graduate to the team upon coach evaluation.

This is for all 4 -6 yrs old who may not be initially ready to swim in the meets.  This is the only signup option for 4 yrs old. The Ripples swimmers will not compete in meets until the coaches feel they are ready for races.  Participants should be comfortable getting in the pool without screaming, getting their face wet, floating on their own and general swimming around in water with help.  This is not an introduction to swimming.  The goal of the Ripples Program is to get the swimmer swimming across the pool in order to graduate them to the team program.   During the registration process on the Active site, select Ripples.

If you should have any questions about where your little swimmer will fit in, please email us at tcowellingtonwaves@gmail.com  We would be happy to help you make the right choice to ensure your swimmer has a great season.
